Bob Entry Information - For T.T.2/T.S users.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Date Today: 27/5/95.
Bob Entry is a program for T.T.2/T.S users who don't have the Bob Editor that
comes with the Amos system. It allows you to Cut Out "Cut `N' Paste" type
Fonts/Graphics from an IFF Picture and then put them into T.T.2's/T.S's
Bob Bank as Bobs.
The program is nothing fantastic, but it does do its job. Simply Load your
Fonts/Graphics Picture and then start Cutting Out your Characters/Graphics,
putting each character/graphic into the Bob Bank, as a Bob, when you've
finished editing it.

Options...
------------
Load: Load a Picture - You can load a picture anytime.
Grab: Get the currently loaded picture from memory and let the user Grab
Characters/Graphics from it - Once you've loaded your first picture
you can start Grabbing characters/graphics from your currently
loaded picture anytime.
Res: Choose the Resolution for your grabbed character/graphic. This can
only be toggled between resolutions before you load a picture. Once
your picture is loaded this will have no effect until you load
another picture. Keep the resolution to that of your picture for an
easy life.
The resolution can be: Low, Low Interlaced, High or High Interlaced.
Load: Load a Bob Bank - You can load a bob bank anytime.
Note: Upon loading Bob Entry the program looks in the DF0:TTTools
drawer for the `BE.Config' (Bob Bank) file. Bob Entry has now
been given a Config file so that you can substitute it for
your own - Like an unfinished file, which you could name
`BE.Config', thus, it would be loaded the next time you loaded
Bob Entry and be ready for use.
Save: Save a Bob Bank - You can save a bob bank anytime.
Note: All Load options need the full Path (Including Filename).
All Save options only need a Directory: (No Filename) or a
Directory:Drawer/ (No Filename).
The Filename is set to `Bank'+`A' (BankA). Once you have saved
your first bob bank the letter will move up by one. So your
second bob bank will be saved as BankB, your third bob bank as
BankC...and so on until BankZ. After BankZ the letter will go
back to A.
Insert: This puts your Grabbed Character/Graphic into the currently selected
Bob Position.
----------
Tools...
----------
Move: Move the Grabbed Character/Graphic around the Edit Area. This allows
you to place your grabbed character/graphic in the Top-Left Corner.
Edge: Size your Grabbed Character/Graphic by closing the edges around it.
This will cut down on area that your grabbed character/graphic doesn't
need, thus, making your Bob Bank, etc smaller in size.
Box Colour: Change the Colour of each Area Box so that you can hopefully see
the area you are working with.
Bob Position: This allows you to View what grabbed character/graphic (Bob)
is in what position of the bob bank.
`Insert' also uses this tool (See Insert, above).
The Move, Edge and Bob Position tools use the Cursor Up and Cursor Left Keys.
To Quit bob entry use any Blank key or Ctrl-C.
------------------
General Notes...
------------------
Each Grabbed Character/Graphic is limited to a size of 100 x 100 pixels. This
should be enough for most Cut `N' Paste type Fonts as most Cut `N' Paste type
Fonts are usually 50 by 50 pixels or less.
There are no Edit options, such as Drawing, etc, simply because your picture
should have been designed on an art package, thus, all Drawing, etc should
have been done aswell.
There are no checks on what resolution your picture uses so make sure your
picture complies with the resolutions in `Res' above for an easy life.

Cutting Out...
----------------
I've put an example picture (Filename is: BE-ExPic) in the TTPictures drawer
to show you how to set up your Fonts Picture - for easy grabbing of your
characters. Just load it into the program.
The example picture shows you how to find the Base Line and Top Line of your
non-CAPITAL characters, by using the letter Z and 2 Green Lines. Here's what
to do...
1) Grab a non-Capital character with the 2 green lines included.
2) Move your grabbed non-Capital character towards the Top-Left corner of
the Edit area, with the Move tool, until the top green line disappears
and the left-hand-side of your non-Capital character is touching the
left wall of the edit area.
3) Once your non-Capital character is in the top-left corner of the edit
area simply Edge your non-Capital character, with the Edge tool, until
the bottom edge tool covers the bottom green line and the right edge
tool touches the right-hand-side of your non-Capital character.
Note: If any of your characters have a tail on them (I.e. y g p etc)
you will need to put the bottom edge tool Underneath (touching)
the tail of course and not over the bottom green line.
Once the above is done you simply Insert the character into the bob bank.
Note: The above was based on the example picture.
